About the Artist: Val Bell

From an early age, Val enjoyed drawing and painting, being brought up in a creative household with the smell of oil paint! Influenced by her Dad who exhibited locally, weekends were spend on trips in the countryside, drawing and visiting art galleries.

Working in education for over 30 years, Val held art co-ordinator roles in schools and throughout her career, continued to promote the arts. 

Now retired, Val has more time to explore her passion for wildlife and the countryside through her paintings of animals and landscape, predominantly using watercolours and acrylic.  She enjoys experimenting with a range of other media including collage, fabric and print. 

Val is a member of the Cleveland Art Society.
